Students will be grouped according to age and ability.  Changes will be made when necessary.  Final decisions concerning classification will be made by the teacher.  Below is an outline for the curriculum.

¨ Ages: 4-5 (usually the second year of dance)

¨ Offered forty five minutes, Once a week

¨ Students are taught the basics in Tap, Ballet, and Jazz.

PRIMARY CLASS

¨ Ages: 5-6 (usually the third year of dance)

¨ Offered one hour, Once a week

¨ The basics of Tap, Ballet, and Jazz are continued into further depth.

ADVANCED PRIMARY CLASS

¨ Ages: 7-8

¨ Offered for one hour, Once a week

¨ Faster pace routines and more advanced skills are introduced.

BEGINNER / ADVANCED BEGINNER

¨ Ages: 8-10

¨ Students continue to be exposed to more technical skills in tap, jazz, and ballet.  Progressions are taught.

JUNIOR INTERMEDIATE / INTEREMEDIATE / ADVANCED INTERMEDIATE

¨ Ages: 10-12

¨ Offered for one hour and fifteen minutes a week

¨ Students are taught a varied curriculum including Tap, Jazz, and Ballet.  Students at this level are introduced to more complicated choreography and combinations.

JUNIORS

¨ Ages: approx. 15 and up

¨ Ballet is a pre-requisite for all students at this level.  Ballet class will be one hour and fifteen minutes in length.  Tap and Jazz will be a two hour class on another day.  Students are expected to have mastered the basic skills of turn, kicks, and leaps. 

ADVANCED LEVELS

¨ Ages: Available to students in Kindergarten and up.

¨ Hip Hop class consists of fun, energetic “street” moves.  Students are divided by school grade and grouped accordingly.

HIP HOP

¨ For Teens thru Advanced students an hour classical ballet curriculum is taught.

BALLET

¨ Ages:  Available to students 7 years old and up.

¨ Dancers will learn fundamental jazz steps and basic vocabulary through across the floor exercises and simple combinations.  Focus will be on body placement, proper technique, stretching and development of jazz skills.

JAZZ TECHNIQUE

¨ Ages: 3-4

¨ Offered forty five minutes, Once a week

¨ Students are taught  introductory Tap, Ballet, Acrobats, and Jazz. 

PETITE CLASS

¨ Ages:  Available to students ages 7 and up.

¨ Teaches flexibility, balance, strength, muscle control, discipline and concentration.  Learn hand stands, chin stands, elbow stands, cartwheels, backbends, walkovers, balance and contortion tricks.

ACRO

¨ Ages: approx. 12-14

¨ Ballet is a pre-requisite for all students at this level.  Ballet class will be one hour in length.  Tap and Jazz will be combined into an hour and fifteen minutes on another day.  More progressions and a variety of center work are taught.  Lessons are expanded to cover more technical skills.
